Even though you still know us as Burke-Divide Electric Cooperative, this nationwide alliance assures that all customers - large and small - continue to have the highest standards of personalized service at affordable rates. It gives us the power to provide every customer with state-of-the-art technology, reliable, responsive service and excellent value. That's the power of human connections. In addition, Burke-Divide Electric Cooperative is actively involved in the communities it serves. We are leaders in economic development and job creation. We also support local charities and events that bring neighbors together. 

Why do co-ops need a unifying brand?
The electric utility industry is experiencing the effects of a number of legislative and regulatory actions on the state and federal level that are leading to a restructuring of many utility operations. In an increasingly competitive marketplace, electric cooperatives will want to tap their most important assets: community ties expressed by integrity, accountability and innovation.

Does that mean one big company owns all the electric co-ops?
Absolutely not! Being a Touchstone Energy partner allows electric cooperatives to maintain their identities. However, having the Touchstone Energy name next to your cooperative's logo means that Burke-Divide Electric Cooperative has partnered with other co-ops across the country.
