2010 Annual Meeting Highlights

The 2010 Annual Meeting of Burke-Divide Electric Cooperative, Inc. was held Wednesday, June 9th, at headquarters in Columbus. A backyard BBQ meal was served to about 220 members and families. Prior to the meeting, there was a jumping castle for the kids, bucket truck rides, and cowboy poetry and music by D.W. Groethe.

Mark Martins from Eide Bailly discussed the 2009 financial documents. Dennis Hill, NDaREC General Manager, provided members with an update on issues faced by electric cooperatives in North Dakota and the nation. Jason Brothen, General Manager, and David Sigloh, Board President, discussed the rapid growth experienced by the cooperative over the last year and what the cooperative has done, and will continue to do, to meet the demand of this growth.

Central District Director Rolland Carlson retired after 27 years of service to the Board. Lane Titus was elected to replace Rolland.

Cory Marschner, Energy Management Supervisor in Columbus, received his 5 year service award. Mark Mattern, Line Foreman in Kenmare, received his 30 year service award.
