Stacey Johnson wins 2010 Youth Tour contest and trip

Burke-Divide Electric Cooperative has selected Stacey Johnson, daughter of Larry and Melinda Johnson of Kenmare, as the winner of the 2010 Youth Tour essay contest and a trip to Washington, D.C.  Stacey will represent Burke-Divide Electric during the all-expense-paid Youth Tour to Washington, D.C., in June.

During the Youth Tour, nearly 1,400 students sponsored by electric cooperatives from across the country converge on the nation’s capital to visit national monuments and historic sites, tour federal offices, and spend time with their congressional delegations.  Students will also learn about electric cooperatives and discuss issues facing their communities and the nation.

Stacey is the vice president of the junior class at Kenmare High School, serves as a peer mentor, and is on the honor roll.  She plays the piano and violin and sings.  Stacey also enjoys riding horse and gardening.

Congratulations, Stacey!
