Burke-Divide Electric Cooperative memorial scholarship

This year’s recipient of the $500 Burke-Divide Electric Cooperative memorial scholarship is Kayla Peterson. Kayla is a senior at Bowbells High School and is the daughter of Steve and Jonell Peterson of Bowbells. She participates in many activities, including speech, drama, band, student council, volleyball, softball and Luther League. In 2009, Kayla marched with the Bowbells High School band in the National Memorial Day Parade in Washington, D.C. Kayla plans to attend Bismarck State College to pursue a degree in business management and finance.

Basin Electric Power Cooperative scholarships

Amanda Johnson is the recipient of a $500 Basin Electric Power Cooperative Scholarship. Amanda is a senior at Divide County High School and is the daughter of Harlan and Bridget Johnson of Crosby. Amanda participates in volleyball, cheerleading, hockey and gymnastics. She is active in FFA, FBLA, FCCLA, band, choir and 4-H and was a state finalist in FBLA for public speaking and parliamentary procedure. Amanda plans to attend the University of Mary to pursue a degree in criminal justice, then the University of North Dakota to receive a law degree.
